Weekend Be-Happier Tip #31

Spread the love

SPECIAL NOTE:  Starting this Sunday, I’m participating in another daily “Blog Challenge” — this time it’s for the 31 days of August. If you have a question or issue you’d like me to discuss in a blog post, submit it at askevelynbrooks.com Thanks!

Take a break to enjoy life.

Too often, we give ourselves an exhausting list of chores and errands to take care of on the weekend. And we forget to put aside time in the schedule for just “being.”

This kind of “me time” isn’t the same as dinner with friends or going to a movie or concert or party. So even if you have fun things on the calendar, that’s not enough.

Here’s why…

If you don’t take time to relax and get centered again before the new week starts up with all its pressure and things to accomplish, these things might happen to you:

  • your stress level skyrockets
  • you get short-tempered with family and friends
  • you try to make the single “party” event on your schedule make up for all the relaxing and meditation you skipped all week, and maybe end up drinking too much or indulging in other behavior that’s not in your best interest
  • all your hair will fall out

Okay, probably that last thing won’t happen. But do you want to risk it? Find out more about managing your life in “Forget Your Troubles: Enjoy Your Life Today” — the ebook is cheap and you’ll get instant access with your order. Click here to learn more.

  1. This a great tip that we often forget to do. Preparing for the week is not just making a list of things to do. This will be especially helpful this week as we start our ultimate blog challenge. I’m looking forward to reading your blogs this month!
