Today starts a 31-day blog challenge I’m participating in and I’m so glad that you made it here. Check back often because I give a lot of helpful tips for how to be happy and stress-free, with a lot of emphasis on healthy relationships.
Here are three ways you can break free from guilt:
- Take a look at the reality of what you did, this thing that you feel guilty about. Many people have been programmed since childhood to feel guilty even when they didn’t do anything wrong. Be aware of yourself, and recognize whether that is true in your life. If you do know you did something wrong that hurt someone else, it is time to rectify matters.
- Ask the other person for forgiveness, and offer forgiveness for their part in it, too. Rarely is something so completely one-sided that only one party is at fault, but be willing to accept responsibility for your own actions. That’s the mature way to cope with our mistakes in life.
- After you have made amends to the other person to the best of your ability, then let go of this mistake. The relief you will feel is going to be immense. You’ve probably carried the burden of guilt for many things in your life and now you can start the process of freeing yourself.
