Rerouting opportunities

Spread the love

Is it a roadblock, or is it something that will lead you to new and better results?

Something I’ve learned the hard way is that life doesn’t always go the way I think is “best.”  A wit says, “If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!”

I don’t believe there’s anyone out to get me or that the universe deliberately pinpoints me and sends trouble my way, but it does seem that if I have very specific outcomes in mind, I really am setting myself up to feel thwarted or disappointed.

Instead, when life gives me lemons (or boulders in the path), I can stop, assess the situation and see if I’m being shown a new path to take. Inevitably, it will lead me toward unexpected blessings and surprises.

Seeking the opportunity… that’s the change in attitude that has helped me to remain happy no matter what happens during the journey.

Even when it’s hard.

  1. That’s a perfect attitude to have—if only everyone adopted it, there wouldn’t be anything to complain about. It’s also a great tip for staying happy! Thanks for the reminder, Evelyn.
