Today I was at a 4-way stop intersection, and 4 cars got there at about the same time. All of us hesitated, wanting to see if someone else was going to go. One car started from my left, but so did the one opposing me. So they both stopped. Then another car’s nose tentatively entered the intersection. We got it sorted out eventually — probably only a matter of seconds — and everyone was on their way… but it reminded me of how often in life we might set a goal to “GO” and then hesitate… wait and see what everyone else is doing… hold back in case someone is more aggressive about going first… back up and wait until it looks SAFER to make our little attempt at forward movement.
You can see where I’m going with this, right? The more you can envision yourself achieving your goals, the greater chance you have of reaching them. Prepare yourself… get your “car” (goal and methodology) tuned up and ready… and then advance confidently and surely. Leave aside hesitation and seize the initiative. Be friendly and courteous, and share the road. Give up the idea that it’s a competition and instead realize that we are all creators, each in our own way.
But please don’t back up in the intersection. Give a wave and proceed with the knowledge that as you keep moving forward all the directions will unfold before you, one at a time as needed. Set that goal and then let the magical map that will lead you to it appear. Don’t let FEAR and SELF-DOUBT be stop signs that hold you in the comfort zone of what you already know how to achieve.
Wealth, health and success can be yours, but only if you keep moving in their direction.
to your happiness,
