Your Fortune Cooky Says…

“You will be happy and stress-free today!”

What if you opened a fortune cooky and found that message? Wouldn’t you smile? For just a moment, wouldn’t you wish for it to be true?

And yet, the thing is, you are the one who holds the power to make that “fortune” come true for you, every day of your life, no matter what kind of circumstances surround you.

We grow up learning that “happiness” is something to pursue. It’s something that happens to you now and then, if you are lucky or if you get the presents you asked for on your birthday or from Santa Claus.

Take a moment to watch babies and small children — they find ways to be happy and smiling in everyday things.

If you practice being “child-like” you will recapture that old magic of playing hard and laughing at the wind in your face.

Try it today. Just let go of all your worries, and enjoy the fact that you are alive on this beautiful planet right now, for some reason. If you haven’t discovered the reason or purpose for living just yet, no worries there either. Give yourself a chance to explore all the avenues open to you. It doesn’t mean you have to race to change jobs — many times, you can uncover a new way to approach the work you are already doing!

So just for today, decide that your “fortune” is going to be true — and with that attitude, you will indeed be able to be happy and stress-free.

your happiness guru,

Evelyn
