Did you know that Oprah never missed a single day of showing up for her televised talk show? Even when she didn’t feel like getting up early and going to the studio. “Something in me connected with each of you in a way that allowed me to see myself in you and you in me,” Winfrey said during her final broadcast of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” today. “I listened and grew,” she said, “and I know you grew along with me.”
After confiding that this show turned out to be her calling, to teach and be of service to others, Oprah asked: “What is YOUR calling?” She explained that it’s all about finding what your passion is, and added, “It lights you up and lets you know you are exactly where you’re supposed to be, doing what you’re supposed to be doing.”
She said, “Each one of you has your OWN platform…. Yours is wherever you are, with your own reach.”
Oprah suggested that each person should “start embracing the life that is calling you and use your life to serve the world.”
I know that many people are confused about what their purpose in life is, and get it mixed up with the different roles they might play such as child, parent, neighbor, friend, coworker, employer, etc.
