Inauguration Countdown Day 20 — Anticipate Miracles

Happy New Year! Together, we can create lasting peace and a higher level of growth and awareness in our country than might seem possible at this moment, with the Trump presidency looming over us like a thundercloud.

Last night, I enjoyed the New York Philharmonic’s New Year’s Eve concert at Lincoln Center, conducted by Alan Gilbert. At the end of the concert, before leading the audience in “Auld Lang Syne,” he said, “The opposite of war isn’t peace–it’s creativity.”

Let’s join together with our amazing creative thought power and bring about the positive change we desire in our country, and in the world.

As one of my favorite inspirational authors, Florence Scovel Shinn, says in her book Your Word Is Your Wand (1928), “God makes a way where there is no way.” The full meaning of that seemingly odd statement is that we are not supposed to worry about all the “How can we do anything about this?” questions that leap to mind when we think about a racist taking office in less than three weeks as president of our great country.

When we look to Source (God, Universal Mind) to work with us, we can accomplish anything we set our minds to. By tapping into the true power of our creative thoughts, we create miracles.  A miracle, by the way, is the genuine outcome of using our minds the way there were intended, to create desired results—it’s the logical result of thinking deliberately about what we want, holding the feeling of already having it in our lives, and allowing it to manifest fully in the physical world we inhabit. But since we’ve all been trained to believe in things like good luck, bad luck, happenstance, and wishing on stars, it can really seem like a “miracle” when we get what we want instead of a pale imitation of it, if even that much.

Learning to use the universal laws gives us so much power in our lives. It’s like being shown how to drive a car for the first time. At first, there’s so much to learn and remember, and we grip the wheel in panic, muttering under our breath, “Seat belt! Check the rear view mirror! Turn on the engine! Release the emergency brake! Put it in gear! No, no—wait! Put your foot on the brake first!” And then, as if by magic, after practicing and practicing, and getting things wrong sometimes and doing better the next time…we’re driving like we were born to it. The same process works for using the law of attraction in a far more powerful and effective way than we ever have before.

Go ahead and let your wishes jump-start your engine—but don’t count on wish power to make results happen. We can’t “hope” that the next four years turn out okay. We have to get creative, and make sure they turn out better than just all right – that they turn out miraculously well because we anticipated great things and we brought them to pass in support of liberty and justice for all.

I’ll get into all of this in greater detail in my new book America’s New Breed of Freedom Fighters—coming on Inauguration Day.

Are you in? Okay, then put aside the panic, breathe mindfully, and realize this is an incredible opportunity for all of us to “fight” for the freedom and justice we desire.  More to come in the rest of this blog countdown to Inauguration 2017, and in my new book which will be released that day:  America’s New Breed of Freedom Fighters: With Liberty and Justice for All
