Inauguration Countdown Day 19 — Stop Badmouthing Trump

The more we send out thoughts of hate and worry about what Trump will do on Day One of his presidency, the more we come into collusion with his agenda. I’m not asking you to say something good about him. Start with not saying something bad. It might feel strange. You may have to catch yourself mid-sentence and change the subject.

Here are some of the things we Democrats and Progressives and Republican Moderates should stop doing immediately:

–Hating Trump

–Wishing he’ll fail

–Hoping he gets kicked out of office

–Hoping he is scorned by our allies and world leaders (other than those like Putin who are thrilled Trump got elected)

–Worrying about the umpteen billion dollar wall Trump demands must be erected between the United States and Mexico (which, by the way, as any elementary school kid could tell him, used to own our southwestern states including California.)

Resisting Trump by speaking and thinking ill of him is actually the wrong way of going about things. It’s contrary to the way our thought power works. In fact, resistance is worse than “futile” as a hostile alien might intone to a hapless Earther—resistance plays into our opponents’ hands by strengthening the energy around their agenda.

The natural laws of the mind show us that it can’t be otherwise. We can’t continue to think unhappy thoughts and create happier results. It doesn’t work that way, even though we’ve stumbled along as a race for many thousands of years doing just that.

Wishful thinking doesn’t work either, not unless we amplify it with a higher level of expectation.

In response to our pushing-away thought commands (e.g. “I want Trump to go away!”) the Universe can only give us more Trump, and even worse – a bigger and stronger Trump.

The law of attraction draws together all harmonious elements to create the matching result. It’s like the children’s game of matching colored squares.  If millions of us are thinking negative, low sour-green frequency thoughts about Trump and his cronies, we actually align our energy with his because that’s where his platform is: on a low energy sour-green vibration of hate and discord.

You may be inwardly protesting that you have stepped up your positive affirmations and meditations since the election results were announced. And that’s wonderful. But take a look as well at how you feel about Donald Trump.  Do you walk around with a dull ache inside, with anxiety in the pit of your stomach, and fear in the back of your mind? That fear emotion is what the Universal Mind is “reading” and responding to.

It’s as if we operate with a stereo system in our mind. On the full volume track, we’ve got our beautifully crafted positive affirmations, and we repeat them, we listen to them on recordings, we watch positive videos, we write them in our journals and on sticky notes for the bathroom mirror.  Example: “I am so happy and grateful now that all is well and only good comes to me.”

But—let’s look at that other stereo track, which is actually our subconscious beliefs. Imagine it’s on a very low volume, so you don’t notice it consciously, especially when you’re going about your busy day. It’s the voice of your inner beliefs, and it might go something like this: “I am so upset that @#${&*^ man got elected! What are we going to do! I’m terrified what is going to happen next!”

That inner voice of anxiety and dread is the one driving your results—and when we all chime in together on that vibration of anxiety, we inadvertently create a big manifestation that’s all about stuff we don’t want and would never deliberately conjure up.
The key is to change our beliefs, to get a sense of inner calm that good can come out of this, that together we are strong and will create the progressive change we desire, that we have hope for the future because we know a bully can’t defeat us unless we let him.

Once we get into the rhythm of speaking for what we want (instead of decrying what we don’t want and badmouthing the president-elect), we begin to see a shift in our results.

It starts first with feeling a bit better. Not as anxiety-ridden. Not as sleep-deprived.  Not as stressed-out. We start feeling that, okay, this isn’t the choice we prefer, this isn’t the candidate we voted for, he’s not even the one who got the most votes, but we still live in a democracy, we still have access to our Congressional representatives and senators to make our voice heard, and we can keep moving forward.

If we buckle under to fear, then Trump truly wins.

I’ll get into all of this in greater detail in my new book America’s New Breed of Freedom Fighters—coming on Inauguration Day.
